ADM Group, Inc., an Arizona leader in architecture and commercial interior design, today announced it will break ground on state-of-the-art gymnasium facilities at four schools in the Alhambra Elementary School District.
“We’re excited to see construction get underway on these projects,” said ADM’s Principal, Ben Barcon. “Each of these schools – Madrid Neighborhood, Carol G. Peck, Cordova and Alhambra Traditional – had no indoor space suitable for physical education classes, let alone anything else. Once the work is complete, the facilities will not only accommodate PE class and athletics, but will also be open for extra-curricular activities and community-based events.”
According to Alhambra Elementary School District Superintendent Mark Yslas, the projects align perfectly with the district’s emphasis on the ‘4 A’s: Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Activities. He said, “We take great pride in enriching the lives of students by offering exposure and experiences to our next generation of leaders. Now, Alhambra students and community will have the opportunity to play sports and hold PE classes in a state-of-the-art facility, similar to what students experience in other school districts across the state.”
Each school’s campus gymnasium includes unique elements – amenities not currently found on the campus but essential to enhancing the learning experience.
For example, Madrid Neighborhood School’s design adds two classrooms intended to relieve current overcrowding, along with a platform and stage for assemblies. The school will also receive two new basketball courts.
The design for Alhambra Traditional School also includes three new basketball courts, with one additional exterior court at Cordova School.
Carol G. Peck School underwent a recent reconfiguration from a primary school to one that now includes students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The addition of a gymnasium will provide a place for temperature-controlled athletics, recreation and extracurricular activities for students at every grade level. This addition to the campus also involves a unique design that addresses additional fire response access for the entire campus.
Ceremonies marking the start of construction work at each school will take place in the early days of November, with media and members of the community invited to attend. Dates, times and locations are as follows:
