There’s a lot more to Casa Grande than “Cotton, Cattle & Commerce.” The just-released Nov/Dec issue of Arizona Contractor & Community Magazine explores the city’s “Grande” slam spring training facility, the Pueblo Deco train station, its “haunted” futuristic domes, and the new downtown sign park under construction.
The highlight is Marilyn Szabo’s article about her latest eclectic project curating, along with Marshall Shore, a book about the town’s photographer, Jim Gorraiz.
We haven't neglected construction activities, writing about Roman Candelaria's work on Interstate 10 near Picacho, and James Bowlin's impact on the area while managing the Arizona Machinery Company stores in Casa Grande and Coolidge.
As always, kudos to those who contributed to the magazine, which is completing its seventh year of publication, including Billy Horner, Laura Horner, Lynn Horner, Douglas Sydnor, Alison Bailin Batz, Laura Joy DeLay Bowlin, Camryn Dilger, Kelsey Makings, Billie Snell, Luke Snell, Dean Isaac, Chuck Runbeck, Tom Hogarty, and Barry Warner.
