Justin Kelton, president of McCarthy Building Companies’ Southwest region, was recently elected chair of the board of directors for the Support Sky Harbor Coalition, a nonprofit 501(c)4 organization that supports the Sky Harbor community and its neighbors through education, advocacy and outreach.
McCarthy has been involved with the Support Sky Harbor Coalition for 15 years. During this time, McCarthy volunteers have participated in the Coalition’s events and neighborhood clean-ups regularly, working to help residents and neighborhoods in the vicinity of the airport. Justin joined the Support Sky Harbor Collation board in 2014. He was named treasurer in 2017 and served as vice chair in 2018.
"Justin’s leadership on the board has been exemplary. He is focused on not only making sure the organization is focused on its mission, but he has also done a great job in building stronger partnerships with other business leaders and organizations to demonstrate how important Sky Harbor International Airport is as the state’s greatest economic engine,” said David Schwartz, executive director of the Support Sky Harbor Coalition. “Justin and the entire McCarthy team have led by immersing themselves in all aspects of the Sky Harbor community.”
Kelton joined McCarthy in 2001 after serving as a U.S. Marine, and he moved into the top leadership role for the Southwest division in 2017. He earned a Civil and Environmental degree from Vermont Technical College. He also currently serves on the American Heart Association board of directors and is a former board member for the Arizona Builders’ Alliance and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. He also participates in McCarthy Heart Hats, the volunteer-based community outreach arm of McCarthy Building Companies that includes McCarthy employees and their family members who support the communities in which they live, work and play by volunteering for community projects and fundraising efforts.
