McCarthy Building Companies Inc. (www.mccarthy.com) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kurt Radtke as senior project manager for the Healthcare team in the Southwest region.
Radtke has more than two decades of experience leading numerous hospital construction projects in Arizona, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. He will be managing efforts on the $106 million Emergency Department (ED) and Patient Tower expansion project at Banner Boswell in Sun City, Ariz., which includes an upgrade of the existing Central Utility Plant with services to the new tower as well as multiple remodeled spaces within the existing hospital.
The new 321,000-square-foot, six-story patient tower will house a new 50,000-square-foot Emergency Department, small café, gift shop, pharmacy, chapel, waiting areas, offices and support areas as well as a new reception area and lobby that will serve as the hospital’s new main entrance and provide room for future growth.
“Kurt has vast experience building a wide range of healthcare projects in several different markets,” said Chris Jacobson, vice president, operations at McCarthy Southwest. “He has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of best practices in healthcare construction and possesses a drive to always improve, which fits well with the McCarthy approach to building.”
Radtke received his bachelor’s degree in construction engineering management from Oregon State University. He is a member of American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) and Central Arizona Society of Healthcare Engineers (CASHE). He also holds a membership with the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) as well as a certification from the Dale Carnegie Institute, where he earned an award for highest achievement.
