Rosendin, the electrical contracting industry’s largest employee-owned firm with offices in Tempe, took the lead in organizing a team to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s charity walk at Tempe Beach Park on October 26, 2019. Not only did Rosendin have its associates participate in the effort, but they were also responsible for organizing 9 different companies from the construction industry to come together as a unified team.
“Through our work on various projects throughout the Valley, we are well connected with other firms, contractors, and subcontractors in the local construction industry,” said Krystal Keilholtz of Rosendin. “When we had the idea to reach out to other organizations to join or efforts in the Making Strides of Phoenix event, we were blown away by the rapid support we were able to generate.”
Rosendin was successful in recruiting a number of Valley construction companies and firms to join their cause, including SDB, Independent Electric Supply, Border States, KDS, Stacy and Witbeck, HDR, PCL, San Trac, and Johnson Carlier. In total, 30 individuals from nine companies joined team Rosendin for the Making Strides of Phoenix event.
Out of 834 participating teams, Rosendin was the 12th most successful fundraising team and the 6th most successful fundraising company in terms of total dollars raised. Combined, team Rosendin raised $5,250, more than doubling their goal of $2,500.
“Being an employee-owned company means that we care about the people who work at Rosendin, as well as our industry partners and the people in the communities we serve,” said Mike Greenawalt, Vice President of Operations at Rosendin. “I applaud everyone involved for their incredible fundraising achievement and their dedication to such a meaningful cause.”
The American Cancer Society started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks to unite communities in the fight against breast cancer. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation. Funds raised through these events go towards groundbreaking breast cancer research and providing patient services like free rides to chemotherapy, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline.
The year 2019 marks 100 years in business for Rosendin, the electrical contracting industry’s largest employee-owned firm. Rosendin has grown tremendously since 1919, with revenues over $2 billion. No longer a small family company, Rosendin has nearly 7,000 employees across 15 regional offices nationwide, each offering an increasing number of services.
