Once a western hideaway and retreat of choice for America’s titans of industry such as the Cabots, Vanderbilts, Wrigley’s, Roosevelts, and Astors, Castle Hot Springs has hosted some of America’s most prominent families throughout the early 1900s. The destination weaves the rich and storied history throughout the resort, culminating in a tranquil desert oasis that encourages visitors to reconnect with their surroundings and unplug from the outside world.
New this season, the property introduced a Crater Canyon Experience, where guests hike to a private slot canyon in a remote section of the Sonoran Desert, led by an expert outdoorsman who shares information on the surrounding ecosystem along the way such as Saguaro Cacti and desert wildflowers. Along the route, guests will take time to enjoy splendid vistas, pause in anticipation of observing the resident pair of Peregrine falcons and see the years unfold in layers of geology that tell a fascinating story of history. Arizona’s first-ever Via Ferrata adventure course is also an heart-pumping option for the resort’s adrenaline-seeking guests. All of Castle Hot Spring’s activities, leisurely or more adventure leaning, invite guests to immerse themselves in the Sonoran Desert and glean all the benefits of being surrounded by the elements.
Adding to the property’s already impressive portfolio of accolades since reopening in 2019, Castle Hot Springs has also been recognized by:
