Employers take note: Arizona minimum wage increases to $14.35 on January 1

In a move aimed at aligning with the rising cost of living, Arizona is set to implement a minimum wage increase on January 1, 2024. Employers across the state should be aware that the current rate of $13.85 per hour will be adjusted to $14.35, marking a $0.50 hourly increase.

This adjustment is based on the inflation data reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index, comparing figures from August 2022 to August 2023.

The Arizona Labor Department emphasizes the importance of compliance, urging employers to make the necessary changes to their payroll systems to reflect the updated minimum wage starting with the new year. Employers are encouraged to stay informed and make timely adjustments to payroll practices to avoid any inadvertent non-compliance issues.

For additional information or inquiries, employers can refer to the Arizona Labor Department website or contact the Department at 602-542-4661 or by email.
