NAIOP Arizona Honors Lincoln Property Company's David Krumwiede with 2021 Award of Excellence

David Krumwiede, a 36-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry and Senior Executive Vice President for Lincoln Property Company (LPC), has been named NAIOP Arizona’s 2021 Award of Excellence recipient. The award will be presented to Krumwiede at the Best of NAIOP awards ceremony on June 9 at the Arizona Biltmore.

The NAIOP Arizona Award of Excellence recognizes an individual who has made a significant and positive impact on the commercial real estate industry in Arizona over a period of at least 15 years, along with direct volunteer contributions to the chapter.

In just over two decades at LPC, Krumwiede has developed 15 million square feet, acquired over 6 million square feet and currently manages more than 18 million square feet of Class A commercial product. He also serves as an active member and leader across the industry.

“I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the prestigious NAIOP Award of Excellence than Dave,” said Rusty Kennedy of CBRE, NAIOP Arizona 2022 Board Chairman. “He has had, and continues to have, a tremendous impact on Arizona’s commercial real estate community. Dave’s numerous contributions to NAIOP and the Metro Phoenix market span nearly four decades, and his influence and leadership have positively affected many. NAIOP Arizona is grateful for Dave and proud to present him with this award.”

Krumwiede is well known in the Valley’s commercial real estate industry, serving for the past 21 years as head of the Desert West region of LPC, where he oversees Arizona, Utah, Nevada and New Mexico. Under Krumwiede’s leadership, LPC Desert West has received the NAIOP Arizona Owner/Developer of the Year Award for the past three years and has consistently earned project awards for achievements such as The Grand at Papago Park Center, Park 303, Luhrs City Center, and Union.

Krumwiede became a member of NAIOP early in his career. He has served in a range of roles including more than a decade on the Board of Directors, as a Night at the Fights Founding Chairman, and as the 1998 NAIOP Chairman (President).

“From the start, NAIOP gave me avenues for networking, professional growth and collaboration – all things that have made me a better developer, a better leader and hopefully have made the Valley a better place to live and work,” Krumwiede said. “I have appreciated this organization at almost every level and have tried to repay those rewards by engraining NAIOP into the LPC Desert West culture, so that we can continue to shape and improve the future of our industry. I am honored to receive this award and to be a part of such an exceptional organization.”

A 55-year resident of Arizona, Krumwiede previously spent 15 years with OPUS, where he ultimately became Vice President for the company’s Southwest operations. In 2001, Krumwiede joined Lincoln Property Company as Partner and established the Phoenix headquarters office of LPC Desert West, where he continues to oversee all development, acquisition, disposition, debt/equity financing, joint ventures, leasing and asset property management, at a time of record demand across the region.
