Wespac Construction Inc., of Flagstaff, AZ, recently completed construction of a 47,277 SF memory care addition at Touchmark at the Ranch, developed by Touchmark Development & Construction.
Designed by LRS Architects, Touchmark at The Ranch Phase II consists of a 2-story memory care addition attached to the existing IL & AL Grand Lodge building of Touchmark at the Ranch. This addition provided 47,277 square feet of specifically designed living for individuals experiencing memory loss and dementia. The new building and service expands Touchmark’s offerings and provides a full continuum of care, ranging from independent and assisted living through early dementia support to memory care.
“This was a challenging and fun project with a great client and design team,” says Ian Fawley, Wespac Construction Project Manager. “This was the first cold form steel building that myself and the team had built; therefore, working through the design details and coordination with the design team was imperative to the project’s success. In the end, we delivered the project on time and to the satisfaction of all involved. We look forward to future projects with this group!”
Each of the two floors of the facility are divided into two neighborhoods of sixteen homes each, for a total of 64 homes. Each neighborhood includes a nurse’s office, open dining area, a living room, TV rooms, therapy kitchens, and a solarium space where the residents can work on motor skills while enjoying views of the courtyards. Other amenities include a full commercial kitchen, salon, bather rooms, four laundry rooms, quiet rooms, staff offices, breakrooms, conference rooms and lobby.
Residents will also be able to experience three distinct and secured natural settings, such as garden paths, meditative space, and expansive views of the Valley.
The project provided more than 200 people with work during construction and will add approximately 30 staff positions upon its completion.
