Willmeng and the Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical Department held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on Fire Station 144. This facility will be the seventh fire station for Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical, which provides all hazards emergency medical services, fire suppression, and various other specialized skills and services to a community of 65,000 residents that spans roughly 250 square miles north of Phoenix and east of Interstate 17.

The Daisy Mountain Fire District serves the communities of Anthem, Black Canyon City, the Town of Cave Creek, New River, and Desert Hills, an area that is growing rapidly. The property, located at 2402 E. Cloud Rd. in Desert Hills, will help reduce emergency response times and enhance service delivery to residents in the area.

“This fire station has been in the works for a long time. The District has been evaluating this project for over 15 years, recognizing the growing need for enhanced fire and emergency medical services,” said Daisy Mountain Fire District Fire Chief Brian Tobin. “Now, through a strategic partnership with the Town of Cave Creek, we are proud to move forward with this vital initiative. This collaboration enables us to provide much-needed fire and EMS protection to both communities through a shared staffing agreement that maximizes resources and improves emergency response capabilities.”

For Willmeng, FS 144 is the 16th ground-up fire station project the company has built in 12 different communities around the state.

"We are honored to partner with Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical to bring Fire Station 144 to fruition,” said Willmeng Market Leader Chris Brown. “This state-of-the-art facility at 24th St & Cloud will significantly enhance emergency response times in the Desert Hills and Cave Creek areas. Our team is dedicated to completing the final stages of construction, ensuring the station is fully equipped and ready to serve the community."

FS 144 is designed by Phoenix-based Perlman Architects, a market leader in public safety projects. The new station sits on a 2.15-acre parcel and will be 11,290 square feet and feature four apparatus bays. This modern fire station will house 8 dorm rooms, a day room, kitchen/dining facilities, physical fitness room, supervisor offices, and typical fire station support areas including decontamination room and gear turnout room.
